Vanitas are a symphonic progressive metal band from the UK. Described once as "Periphery meets Disney" Vanitas combine their love of progressive metal, djent and symphony inspired by composers such as Nobuo Uematsu (Final Fantasy) and Motoi Sakuraba (Dark Souls) and artists such as Protest the Hero, Dream Theater and Devin Townsend to create their unique ‘cinematic djent' sound. Their music is characterized by soaring, emotionally charged choruses. cinematic soundscapes and immersive, maximalist production taking the listener on a journey from the serene straight through to the deepest abysses and building an immersive fantasy-like world around their music, inspired by anime and gaming communities. Cited as ‘ones to watch’ by BBC Radio 1 in 2026, Vanitas Emerge as a bold force in progressive metal, the five-piece have established themselves with dynamic live performances supporting acts such as Monuments, Voyager, Galactic Empire & Destrage and recently headlining the EMP stage at Bloodstock Festival 2026, with an upcoming european debut supporting Within Destruction at Bullhead Festival, Switzerland in 2027.
