THE GREAT UNKNOWN

Vanitas are a symphonic progressive metal band from the UK. Described once as "Periphery meets Disney" Vanitas combine their love of progressive metal, djent and symphony inspired by composers such as Nobuo Uematsu (Final Fantasy) and Motoi Sakuraba (Dark Souls) and artists such as Protest the Hero, Dream Theater and Devin Townsend to create their unique 'cinematic djent' sound. Their music is characterized by soaring, emotionally charged choruses, cinematic soundscapes and immersive, maximalist production taking the listener on a journey from the serene straight through to the deepest abysses and building an immersive fantasy-like world around their music, inspired by anime and gaming communities.

Fresh off the back of a headline performance on the EMP stage at Bloodstock Festival 2026 Vanitas return with their brand new single ‘The Great Unknown’ out now.
